Do you remember Black Sheep, A tribe called quest, leaders of the new school??? Have you ever been lost in what I assume was hip hop only to find out now hip hop is called trap hop with nonsense lyrics that a sound like a 2-year-old written the lyrics? Hip hop music has lost its way and the only thing we are accepting are these silly rhymes about selling dope, hustling, and popping bottles which only influence our new generation to do stupid sh*t. I’m not going to lie but the music is entertaining and that’s about it, so I do catch myself occasionally falling in that trap of bulls**t hip hop.
While my transition back to the real world I happen to roam the streets of Norfolk trying to find my way into a nice Memorial Day weekend event. As I walk aimlessly I happen to stumble into a place called FM restaurant that was hosting a birthday party for a DJ Bee of itsfreshradio.com and let me say I was lost until I found my way home and its called Fresh Radio.
For those that love Old School Hip Hop, Reggae, House, and the music that have you reminisce then check these guys out!!
These guys created this station for music heads and Hip-Hop lovers like myself. In rotation will be Classic 80’s and 90’s Hip-Hop with some early 2000 classics sprinkled in. Classic 80’s and 90’s R&B but not the generic songs that Urban AC stations play.
It’s so much music that has been created! Underground/Progressive Hip-Hop (From Dilla to ATCQ to Rah Digga to Kendrick) as well as forward Soul Music(Neo-Soul-not a real genre) but music from Jill Scott to Colin Monroe to Nneka to Yahzarah! This is just the rotation.
If your tired of listening to the lame radio stations that play the same ole crappy music try itsfreshradio.com, you won’t regret it. If you like them let them know, make yourself known as a hip hop music conasure so that they know there are others like them out there as are not alone.
